FURSUIT CARE

-It is advised to wash and brush your fursuit after extended wear at meets or conventions. THIS is the cleaning tutorial I recommend following. Bodysuits with removable padding can be machine washed on a delicate cold cycle. I recommend hand washing other parts with gentle clear soap and COLD water, or with a Little Green Machine.-DO NOT MACHINE WASH my fursuit heads. My fursuit eyes are constructed with foam sheets, which can be damaged by machine washing. In addition, machine washing can case damage or fading to drybrushed or airbrushed fursuit parts.-NEVER use hot water to wash a fursuit, as it can damage the fur fibers and cause neoprene lining fabric to leach dye and stain your suit.-If you accidentally wash your suit with hot water and notice dye beginning to leach, don't panic!! Immediately turn the water to cold and pour it over the affected area thoroughly to rinse the loose dye out before it sets.-Be sure to FAN DRY your suit ALL THE WAY THROUGH, especially the inside of foam and lined parts. If moisture remains inside the suit, it is possible for mold to grow. A moldy suit is dangerous to wear and must be thrown away. There is no way to completely save a fursuit from mold once it has grown.-Fursuits, like any other article of clothing, can eventually pop seams after long-term wear. I recommend all fursuit owners learn ladder stitch and blanket stitch, as these are great for fixing most burst seams! I advise using upholstery thread for the strongest hold.
